Will we ever see a natural ratio
« on: December 07, 2017, 05:55:50 pm »
Currently we are living in a world where computer digits on a screen are worth money. Oil is worth only 50 dollars a barrel and silver and gold are in the toilet.

The ratio of gold to silver is 78 to 1 as of 12/7/2017. That means it takes 78 ounces of silver to equal one ounce of gold. When we were on a gold standard, the gold to silver ratio was about 20-1. And silver comes out of the ground at a 9-1 ratio to gold. A lot of the easy gold and silver has been mined already. And with the cost of everything rising it only makes sense that it will be more expensive to get the precious metals out of the ground.

At one point we had a gold backed dollar. They were called silver certificates. You could go to a bank and trade in the paper certificate for an ounce of silver. Then in 1971 Nixon took us off the gold standard which made the paper dollar as valuable as the money in the game of monopoly.

When the day comes when the ratio goes back to its natural state. I hope to pay off the house with my silver stack and  buy that old muscle car I always wanted
The only thing we have to fear is...... running out of silver! The world waits for no man but sometimes a blond in a red dress can stop traffic by crossing the street

I think we will see it back to 20ish:1 although I'm not sure how though. I guess silver now is still considered a industrial metal will need to get back to being considered a precious metal. I'm still and always will be in the camp of silver has a special, unique property that is yet to be discovered. Could you imagine a day where silver is so valuable that people are getting paid for scrapping electroplated stuff or silver plated things?? I can. With rising debts of countries, food and living prices getting way outta control as well as people living far above their means putting everything on credit and lastly but certainly just the tip...we as a nation are dipping and have been dipping into the treasury for years. Giving handouts to anyone and everyone, and the people who should be leading all the sudden have a problem when it comes to spending other people's money. So yeah, things can't go on like they have forever......and I'm betting stuff will fall apart sooner rather than later. I am wrong at times an often ✌🏻
