Description: The Oregon Trail is one of my favorite commemorative coins. These Oregon Trail half dollars were produced from 1926-1939, over a decade. The 1926-S had a mintage of 83,055. The Oregon Trail half dollar was designed by James Earle Fraser. Fraser's wife, Laura, also worked on designing the half dollar. James Earle Fraser is most famous for designing the Buffalo nickel.
